In front of every American courthouse and monetary note says: In God We Trust. Why? And has the U.S. ever been led by the righteousness of the very same words? When, where, or how has America led the world in being the example of how to treat its very own citizens, or how to treat anyone that doesn’t look like the “founding fathers”?

The double standards of expectations are crippling from those that are in leadership positions versus those that are bound by the standards or rules. Judges, attorneys, law enforcement officers, politicians, clergy and countless more swear an oath by God to tell the truth and to do no harm; yet that seems to dissipate the moment the last breath passes the lips after the last syllable spoken in said oath.

So riddle me this, why is it for centuries the benefactors of such words have refused to heed by the very same words? For example, America has refused to repent for its previous and present sins towards the Native/Black community. At the same time for multiple cultures that aren’t plagued with a permanent tan have received billions upon billions of dollars to show sympathy for their pain. Examples Israel, Ukraine, Corporate America, and the list goes on. The double standards are retina blinding.

When the pain is part of one of the previously mentioned countries or companies, the response/reaction seems to be immediate, with minimal delegation, then the money printing press is back in action. Yet for hundreds of years, the U.S. has had the audacity to pay panels of people that do not look like the disenfranchised to figure out how to hold out longer for any justice. For instance, America recently denied compensation or reparations for the survivors of the Tulsa genocide of 1921. Then again, not many seemed appalled enough at the disgusting treatment and lacking actions of those paid and charged with leadership.

Another election is here, and people are spending ridiculous amounts of money to highlight the two horrible candidates forced upon on us. Neither one has shown much of a moral compass and seems to be running for car salesman of the year. Beyond taking care of their allies or those that put them into office, they both have already had four years to screw over the people they have been paid to represent. Question: Which of you want your children or partner in life to emulate either one of them? But hey, all they need to do is rinse and repeat, God Bless America… and we fall back in line to receive the scraps.
